Zinc Bromide, chemical formula ZnBr2, is a powdered inorganic salt product that is easily soluble in water, with a solubility of 447g/100mL in water at 20°C. In solution, Zinc Bromide usually dissolves in water to form a transparent, colorless to yellowish liquid. Zinc Bromide is used primarily to increase the density of Calcium Chloride/Calcium Bromide/Zinc Bromide blends. Zinc Bromide is especially effective for density control in the 15.2-19.2ppg (1.82-2.30SG) range for completion fluid and workover fluid operations.
