Hydroxyethyl Cellulose (HEC) is a nonionic water-soluble polymer that can dissolve rapidly into water to form a transparent or semi-transparent viscous liquid. As a viscosifier, it is often used in mixing solids- free or low-solid completion fluids, specifically for reservoir sections, to prevent clay particles from blocking reservoir pores and to protect the reservoir. HEC is insensitive to electrolytes and will not produce sediment residues in high-salinity environments, making it an excellent reservoir protection agent product.
Product Code | SHARK | Product Description | Applications/Functions |
DFS14-16 | HEC | Viscosifier for completion brine, dry powder | Used in mixing solids- free or low-solid completion fluids, specifically for reservoir sections, form a transparent or semi-transparent viscous liquid, thermal stable up to 250°F |
DFS14-17 | HEC L | Viscosifier for completion brine, liquid | Used in mixing solids- free or low-solid completion fluids, specifically for reservoir sections, disperses and mixes even more easily than HEC viscosifier with little shear and does not generate fish-eyes |
