AQUATONETM LITE is a high-temperature rheology modifier derived from natural sepiolite used in water-based drilling fluids. It is a pure natural, non-toxic, odorless, asbestos-free and non-radioactive hydrated magnesium silicate clay mineral. Microscopically, AQUATONETM LITE is fibrous and easily dispersible in water and highly polar solvents. Through the random dispersion of its fibers, a network structure is formed, displaying excellent suspension and rheological properties. AQUATONETM LITE can maintain stable performance under high salt or high-temperature drilling environment. The drilling fluid mixed with AQUATONETM LITE does not flocculate at high temperatures, is not affected by charged ions in salt water, and has almost the same hydration expansion in fresh water and salt water. It is widely used as rheology modifier in salt water, sea water drilling and high-temperature drilling fields. Moreover, it is partially acid-soluble and is an ideal material used in completion fluids and workover fluids.
