Product Description
BLACKNEX® resin lignite is a filtration control agent and rheological stabilizing additive for all water-based drilling fluids with chlorides below 70,000ppm and hardness not exceeding 3,000ppm. BLACKNEX® should be used at pH greater than 10.0 to assure solubility. BLACKNEX® will not increase viscosity, but will stabilize the fluids at increased bottom hole conditions while controlling HPHT filtration rates. BLACKNEX® is useful to assist in controlling shale stability and hole washout.
- Effective HPHT filtration control agent in basically all water-based fluids
- Replace basic filtration polymers that lose their ability to control HPHT filtration rates at elevated bottom hole temperatures
- Temperatures stable to >425°F

- Solubilizes readily in alkaline fluids
